Who we are
MarcomFintech is the personal brand and fractional-CMO practice of a single, Singapore-based operator, publishing at marcomfin.tech. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, MarcomFintech is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. This policy covers marcomfin.tech only. Other products and sites the same operator publishes, including Northtape at app.marcomfin.tech, are separate services with their own privacy policies.
What we collect
Site visits. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It sets no cookie, does not fingerprint your device, and does not identify you personally. We see aggregate numbers, not individual visitor profiles.
Messages you send us. If you write to us by email or through a link on the site, we receive whatever you choose to include: your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.
Nothing else. The site has no accounts, no logins, and no forms that store information in a database. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or session recording.
Why we collect it, and what we do with it
We use aggregate visit statistics to understand what content is useful and to keep the site running well. We use the contents of a message you send us to read it and to reply to you. Where we are travelling or otherwise away, an automatic acknowledgement may be sent confirming your message arrived and giving an expected reply window. That acknowledgement is generated from a small set of prepared messages, never written or read by an automated system beyond that, and every message is still forwarded to us unread by any third party.
To avoid sending that automatic acknowledgement to the same sender twice, we keep a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of your email address, not the address itself, for up to 30 days. We cannot reverse that fingerprint back into an email address, and we do not use it for anything beyond this one check.
Who we share it with
We use Cloudflare as our hosting, security, and analytics provider, and Cloudflare processes traffic and messages to the extent necessary to run the site and deliver mail. We do not share your information with any other third party, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Where it is processed
Our hosting and security provider operates a global network, so your visit or message may be processed outside Singapore, including in jurisdictions with data protection standards different from your own. Where this applies to visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on our provider's standard contractual safeguards for such transfers.
How long we keep it
We do not keep aggregate visit statistics in a form that identifies you, so there is nothing there to delete. A message you send us is kept as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and for our own records, and the cryptographic fingerprint described above is kept for a maximum of 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: write to privacy@marcomfin.tech. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to data portability and to object to certain processing, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Singapore, you may raise a concern with the Personal Data Protection Commission (pdpc.gov.sg). UK visitors may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
We do not use cookies. Our analytics provider's own security systems may set a technical cookie solely to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse. This is not used to identify or track you.
Children
This site is a professional-services and content site aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
Security
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit. We keep the personal data we hold to the minimum needed for the purposes above, and where a technical safeguard can avoid holding an identifier at all, such as the fingerprint described above, we use it.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back from time to time.
